Back Pain Management
Spine surgery is a very complex surgery and the patient may face pain immediately. The doctors give non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and painkillers to fight the pain. Even when you’ll be discharged from the hospital the doctors will ask you to intake some painkillers as the healing wound can be very painful. You must make sure that you are taking your medication as prescribed and on time. They will be reduced as you heal and will also reduce a flare-up of symptoms.
Ice is the best way to numb the pain post surgery. It soothes the muscles and relieves the tensed ligaments. Ice, when directly applied on the skin, can cause ice burns. Make sure that you use an ice pack for the process.
